Golfers and Sponsors of the 4th Annual Kilts and Clubs Charity Golf Tournament,
 
As many of you may have heard or seen on the news or internet weather pages, a cold front will pass through Houston Sunday afternoon, night and into Monday morning.  The weather on accuweather.com shows a strong chance of rain early in the morning, letting up for a few hours and then a chance for scattered showers with it clearing in the afternoon and getting chilly as the day wears on. 
 
Those of you who participate in charity tournaments on a regular basis know that the golf course will not cancel our tournament unless the rain is heavy and steady or the threat of lightning exists.  In any event, Wildcat Golf Club’s Head Pro will make the decision to either delay our shotgun start by up to 1 hour or let us begin on-time.  They will be monitoring their weather satellite all morning to see what is coming into the south Houston area. 
 
As golf tournaments are scheduled up to 6 months in advance it is not possible to reschedule a charity event at the last minute.  We remain committed to putting on a great event for all our sponsors and participants.
 
Registration will open at 10:00am
Lunch by Ruth’s Chris Steak House will begin serving at 11:00am
Shotgun start scheduled for 12:00pm
 
Dinner will be served in the Lone Star Room at Wildcat
We have a silent auction with some really great gifts to bid on such as an autographed soccer ball and shirt from the Houston Dynamo, dinner for two at Mortons Steak House, one night for two at the Lancaster Hotel, 2 round trip airline tickets, and many others.
 
We will have raffle drawings for some great giveaways.
 
We will have a free scotch whisky tasting.
 
We will have free wine, beer and soft drinks all day long.
 
I am going to rely on the experts at Wildcat to make any decisions on delaying the event, since they do this 365 days a year, so if you are traveling a long distance and are concerned about the status, please call Wildcat Golf Club on Monday Morning at 713-413-3400 and push 3 for the Pro Shop and they will be able to tell you exactly what is going on.
 
My only advice is to dress in layers and plan to play golf!  I hope all of you will still look forward to a great event for a great cause!
